About the festival

Not just another beer festival

Brussels on top

We want to give Brussels the place it deserves at the top of the list of the best beer cities in the world. Many of the world's capital cities already have an internationally acclaimed craft beer festival. Not only should Brussels be included in that list, but it should feature right at the very top. The BXLBeerFest aims to put it there.

International

BXLBeerFest has plenty of international ambition. Beer lovers and enthusiasts from all over the world will be welcome to discover a wide selection of beers from Brussels and from the rest of Belgium as well as from other places around the world (30 breweries). Beer has no boundaries!

Good, honest beers

We have selected only independent breweries who produce nothing but quality craft beers. The best thing is that they’re all friends. We're creating a crossroads where these friends can meet. At BXLBeerFest there is no place for industrial beers. Good, honest beer, straight from the brewer to you!

“The Brussels way”

Convivial, easy-going, an environment to enjoy and taste beer... We aim to create a new standard because good, honest beer deserves your full attention. Delivered by us in a professional way and tasted by you in a relaxed atmosphere. That's the way we do it in Brussels!

Focus on gastronomy

Beer. But not only that. Beer AND good food: it goes together like malt and hops. Culinary, gastronomic, authentic... We’ll give beer the culinary recognition it deserves at the BXLBeerFest.

Jean Hummler

Co-owner and passionate spirit of Moeder Lambic, an internationally acclaimed bar that played a big role, and still does, in the good reputation of Brussels concerning fine, authentic beer. Experienced taster with an honest opinion. Loves good authentic and artisanal products.
Favorite beers: Cantillon Lou Pepe Kriek, De Ranke XX Bitter, Brasserie de la Senne Taras Boulba.

Olivier Desmet

Owner of Nüetnigenough and notorious nighthawk. With his Nüetnigenough restaurant he managed to put Brussels on the map when it comes to good, artisanal beer and authentic cuisine. Nüetnigenough has become a must-go for every beer tourist but the locals surely aren’t strangers to this fine spot. Knows the Brussels bars and restaurants like the inside of his pocket.

Cédric Dautinger

Cedric Dautinger studied journalism and is now the head-writter of BEER.BE since 2015. Trained as well in oenology, he promotes a inclusive and accessible way of tasting beer..
Favorite beers: Orval, Auroch de La Source Beer Co., La Mule Berliner Weisse, Cantillon Magic Lantern.

Kevin Desmet

Self-employed. Selling window and door hardware during the day, avid taster and blogger on BelgianBeerGeek.be after hours. Fan of beer with a good head and a big dose of aromatic hops. Likes to watch breweries and trends from a distance with a healthy portion of common sense.
Favorite beers: 3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze, Brouwerij 't Verzet Super NoAH, Dieu du Ciel Péché Mortel.
